- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3–4 medium bananas)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the loaf pan by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
- Mix the dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
- Combine the wet ingredients: mix melted butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla.
- Incorporate the mashed bananas, mixing until evenly distributed.
- Combine the dry and wet mixtures gently, folding until just combined.
- Add the chocolate chips by folding them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve, enjoying plain or with butter.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and moisture. Customize with nuts or spices for variations.
