Description

A delicious and easy-to-make lasagna featuring layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, and creamy cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ pound sweet Italian sausage
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 48 ounces spaghetti sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  3. Cook the ground beef and sweet Italian sausage until browned.
  4. Add minced garlic and spaghetti sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Prepare the cheese mixture by combining ricotta, 2 cups mozzarella, eggs, ½ cup Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  6. Layer the ingredients starting with meat sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, and repeating.
  7. Finish the layers with meat sauce and pour ¼ cup water around the edges.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 50 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  10. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use no-boil noodles for convenience and customize the filling with vegetables.
