- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ pound sweet Italian sausage
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 48 ounces spaghetti sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
- 12 lasagna noodles
- ¼ cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
- Prepare a 9×13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
- Cook the ground beef and sweet Italian sausage until browned.
- Add minced garlic and spaghetti sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the cheese mixture by combining ricotta, 2 cups mozzarella, eggs, ½ cup Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Layer the ingredients starting with meat sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, and repeating.
- Finish the layers with meat sauce and pour ¼ cup water around the edges.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 50 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use no-boil noodles for convenience and customize the filling with vegetables.
