- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Melt the butter and vegetable oil together in a saucepan over low heat.
- Combine the water and granulated sugar with the melted butter and oil until fully dissolved.
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then stir into the sugar mixture along with the vanilla extract.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and the optional chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra treat, serve warm with ice cream on top or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
