Delicious and crispy falafel made from ground chickpeas, perfect for a snack or meal.
Ingredients

- 1 cup dried chickpeas
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak the chickpeas in a large bowl of water for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Prepare the mixture in a food processor by combining soaked chickpeas, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the falafel into balls or patties using wet hands.
- Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to around 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the falafel in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve warm with pita bread, fresh vegetables, and tahini or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Use dried chickpeas for the best texture. Adjust spices to suit your taste.
