Description

Delicious and crispy falafel made from ground chickpeas, perfect for a snack or meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the chickpeas in a large bowl of water for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  2. Prepare the mixture in a food processor by combining soaked chickpeas, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the falafel into balls or patties using wet hands.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to around 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the falafel in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with pita bread, fresh vegetables, and tahini or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use dried chickpeas for the best texture. Adjust spices to suit your taste.
