  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegan

Description

A colorful and refreshing fruit platter designed to resemble the American flag, perfect for 4th of July celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint of blueberries
  • 1 pint of strawberries, sliced
  • 2 medium bananas, sliced
  • 1 watermelon, cut into large triangles (or star shapes)
  • Optional: mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by washing all your fruits thoroughly under cold water. Dry them with a clean towel.
  2. Take your watermelon and cut it into large triangle slices, or use a star-shaped cookie cutter for creative shapes.
  3. Place the blueberries in the top left corner of a large platter to represent the blue field of the flag.
  4. Next to the blueberries, make a row of sliced strawberries to cover the red portion of the flag.
  5. Below the blueberries, arrange banana slices in a rectangle pattern for the white stripes.
  6. Continue alternating between red strawberries and white banana slices until you reach the end of the platter.
  7. Add watermelon stars randomly around the fruit platter and loosely scatter mint leaves for garnish.
  8. Refrigerate the fruit platter for about 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For optimal freshness, prepare the fruit just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container, keeping fruits separate.
