Description

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup whole milk
For the Vanilla Buttercream:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream
2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. Mix in vanilla extract.
6. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
7. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full.
8. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
9. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
10. For the buttercream, beat butter until creamy.
11. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in heavy cream, vanilla, and salt until smooth and fluffy.
12. Pipe or spread frosting onto cooled cupcakes and serve.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for best texture.
