Description
Juicy seasoned chicken breasts topped with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and melted cheese just like the Texas Roadhouse favorite!
Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, sliced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese
Fresh parsley, optional for garnish
Instructions
1. Season chicken with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through; remove and set aside.
4. Add sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet; sauté until tender.
5. Pour in chicken broth and simmer 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
6. Return chicken to the skillet and top each piece with cheese.
7. Cover until cheese melts.
8. Serve warm with extra pan sauce and parsley.
Notes
Great served with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
Swap Monterey Jack for pepper jack for a spicy kick.
Use thin-cut chicken breasts for faster cooking.
