A creamy, sweet, and comforting sweet potato casserole topped with pecans or marshmallows—perfect for holiday dinners.
Ingredients
4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 medium)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping Options:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped pecans
OR 1 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Mix sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, milk, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Pour into greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
4. For pecan topping: mix brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and pecans; sprinkle over sweet potatoes.
5. For marshmallow topping: add marshmallows during last 10–15 minutes of baking.
6. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden and heated through.
Notes
Can be prepared a day ahead; refrigerate and bake before serving.
Adjust sugar to taste.
Toast pecans for extra flavor.
