Description

Delicious salted caramel cookies that blend sweet and salty flavors, featuring gooey caramel pockets and a touch of flaky sea salt.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel chips
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • ½ tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
  7. Fold in the caramel chips and optional chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
  9. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of each dough mound.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  11. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
