- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel chips
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
- ½ tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
- Fold in the caramel chips and optional chocolate chips.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of each dough mound.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
