Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp red food coloring
1 tbsp cocoa powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until combined.
3. Add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring; mix well.
4. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
5. Fold in white chocolate chips if using.
6. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
7. Bake for 22–25 minutes until set but slightly fudgy in the center.
8. Cool completely, then use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut brownies.
9. Serve or decorate as desired.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep brownies fudgy.
Cream cheese frosting pairs beautifully with red velvet flavor.
