- 8 slices of bread
- 4 tablespoons peanut butter
- 4 tablespoons jam or jelly
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Powdered sugar
- Maple syrup
- Fresh fruit
Instructions
- Assemble sandwiches by spreading peanut butter on one slice and jelly on another, then combining to make 4 sandwiches.
- Make the custard by whisking together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides and allowing to soak briefly.
- Cook in a skillet over medium heat with melted butter, for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve warm, sliced as desired, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup, adding fresh fruit on top.
