- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup white chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Prepare egg whites by beating with an electric mixer until foamy. Add cream of tartar and granulated sugar, then beat until stiff peaks form.
- Add vanilla extract to the whipped egg whites and gently fold in.
- Combine the dry mixture into the meringue gently to maintain airiness.
- Pipe small circles (about 1.5 inches) onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Remove air bubbles by tapping the baking sheets on the counter.
- Let stand for 30-60 minutes until they form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until firm, then allow to cool completely.
- Make the filling by heating heavy cream and pouring over chopped white chocolate; stir until smooth.
- Add crushed Oreo cookies to the ganache.
- Sandwich the filling between two macaron shells.
- Refrigerate for 24 hours before serving for best flavor.
Notes
For optimal storage, keep macarons in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Unfilled shells can be frozen for up to three months.
