Description
Napa cabbage stir fry is a quick, savory dish featuring tender-crisp cabbage cooked with garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil simple, comforting, and perfect as a side or light main.
Ingredients
1 large napa cabbage, chopped
2 tbsp vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce (or vegetarian alternative)
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp white pepper
2 tbsp water
Green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
2. Add garlic and ginger and stir fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Add chopped napa cabbage and toss well to coat in oil.
4. Stir fry for 3–4 minutes until cabbage begins to wilt.
5. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and water.
6. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes until cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
8. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions.
9. Serve hot.
Notes
Do not overcook to keep the cabbage from becoming soggy.
Add mushrooms, tofu, or sliced pork for extra substance.
Best enjoyed fresh off the stove.
