Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
Butter and flour for greasing pans
Powdered sugar or frosting for decorating
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease mini heart-shaped cake pans.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Mix in vanilla extract.
6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing just until combined.
7. Divide batter evenly among prepared pans.
8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
9. Cool cakes in pans for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
10. Dust with powdered sugar or frost as desired before serving.
Notes
You can add food coloring to make pink or red cakes.
Top with buttercream, glaze, or fresh berries.
