- 1/2 cup shortening (regular or butter flavor)
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar (packed)
- 3 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix together shortening and peanut butter with brown sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
- Prepare dry ingredients: whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Shape the dough into balls and drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 7 to 8 minutes.
- Cool on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
