Description
Twix Cookies are buttery shortbread cookies topped with smooth caramel and rich chocolate, inspired by the classic candy bar crisp, creamy, and totally irresistible.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup soft caramel candies (about 25 caramels)
2 tbsp heavy cream
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips or melting chocolate
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in vanilla extract.
4. Add flour and salt; mix until dough comes together.
5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly on the baking sheet.
6. Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
7. Cool completely on a wire rack.
8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
9. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of caramel onto each cookie and let set.
10. Melt chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler.
11. Spread or drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel layer.
12. Allow cookies to set completely before serving or storing.
Notes
For extra crunch, sprinkle crushed shortbread crumbs or sea salt on top before the chocolate sets.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Chill briefly before serving for that candy-bar snap.
