Description

A sweet and savory twist on the classic grilled cheese  creamy melted cheese, caramelized banana slices, and a drizzle of honey toasted to perfection between buttery golden bread slices.


Ingredients

4 slices brioche or white sandwich bread

2 tbsp butter, softened

2 bananas, sliced

1 tbsp honey (plus more for drizzling)

4 slices mild cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Pinch of cinnamon (optional)


Instructions

1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.

3. Place 2 slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.

4. Top each with a slice of cheese, banana slices, a drizzle of honey, and a light sprinkle of cinnamon if using.

5. Add another slice of cheese, then top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up.

6. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

7. Drizzle with extra honey before serving warm.

Notes

Try swapping cheddar for brie or cream cheese for extra creaminess.

Add peanut butter or Nutella for a dessert-style sandwich.
