A charming heart-shaped strawberry shortcake made with tender vanilla biscuits, juicy fresh strawberries, and fluffy whipped cream a classic romantic dessert perfect for Valentine’s Day or special occasions.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Stir in milk and vanilla until dough forms.
5. Roll dough out and cut heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
6. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
7. Mix sliced strawberries with sugar and set aside to macerate.
8. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
9. Slice shortcakes in half, layer with strawberries and whipped cream, then top with remaining halves and more cream.
Notes
Shortcakes can be baked a day ahead and stored airtight.
Use a mix of strawberries and raspberries for extra flavor.
Serve immediately for the best texture.
