Ingredients
1 baguette
2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
8 oz mascarpone or cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp honey
Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Slice baguette and cut slices into heart shapes using a cutter.
3. Place bread on a baking sheet and toast for 8–10 minutes until golden.
4. In a bowl, mix strawberries, sugar, balsamic glaze, and vanilla; set aside.
5. In another bowl, stir mascarpone and honey until smooth.
6. Spread mascarpone mixture onto warm toast hearts.
7. Spoon strawberry mixture over the top.
8. Garnish with mint leaves if desired and serve.
Notes
Ricotta works well as a lighter alternative.
Assemble just before serving to keep toast crisp.
Add a drizzle of melted chocolate for a dessert-style bruschetta.
