Description

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp pink food coloring
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp white vinegar
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rectangular baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, beat butter, oil, and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then add vanilla, food coloring, and vinegar.
5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk until batter is smooth.
6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
7. Cool completely, then cut cake into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
8. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar.
9. Frost heart-shaped slices evenly and serve.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant pink shade.
