Ingredients
8 slices thick-cut bread
1/2 cup Nutella
3 large eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp butter for cooking
Powdered sugar for dusting
Fresh strawberries for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut hearts from each slice of bread.
2. Spread Nutella on half of the bread hearts and top with remaining hearts to make sandwiches.
3. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar.
4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
5. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
6. Place on skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
7. Repeat with remaining sandwiches, adding more butter as needed.
8. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with strawberries if desired.
Notes
Slightly freeze Nutella-stuffed sandwiches for easier dipping.
Brioche or challah bread works best.
