2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips

3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
4. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla; mix until fully combined.
5. Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
6. Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
7. Roll dough out between parchment paper and chill for 20 minutes.
8. Cut dough using heart-shaped cookie cutters and place on prepared baking sheets.
9. Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

Notes
Chill dough well to keep heart shapes defined.
Mini chocolate chips work great for cleaner cut edges.
Cookies stay soft for days when stored in an airtight container.
