Description

A rich and creamy cheesecake topped with sweetened coconut and pecans, reminiscent of the classic German chocolate cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Prepare the cream cheese mixture by beating the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing until just combined.
  5. Mix in sour cream and melted chocolate until uniform.
  6. Pour the mixture into the graham cracker crust, smoothing out the top.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  8. Prepare the topping by combining coconut, pecans, brown sugar, and milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
  9. Add the coconut-pecan mixture to the baked cheesecake while it’s still warm.
  10. Cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
