Description
A sweet and savory honey garlic chicken stir-fry with tender chicken bites and crisp green beans, all coated in a glossy, flavorful sauce perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Salt to taste
1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add chicken pieces and cook until golden and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes.
3. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
4. In the same pan, add green beans and a splash of water; cover and steam for 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender.
5. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
6. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and black pepper.
7. Return chicken to the pan and pour in the honey garlic sauce.
8. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring to coat evenly.
9. (Optional) Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce to your liking.
10. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
Serve over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts for extra tenderness.
Add a pinch of chili flakes for a spicy kick.
