Description
A Maryland-inspired seafood favorite these Famous Crab Bombs are packed with jumbo lump crab meat, lightly seasoned, and baked until golden for the ultimate crab lover’s dream.
Ingredients
1 lb jumbo lump crab meat
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup crushed saltine crackers (or breadcrumbs)
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Gently pick through crab meat to remove any shell pieces without breaking up the lumps.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Old Bay, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
4. Add crushed crackers and fold in the crab meat gently until just combined.
5. Form the mixture into 4 large balls (crab bombs) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
6. Brush tops with melted butter.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and heated through.
8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges or tartar sauce.
Notes
Handle the crab meat very gently to keep the lumps intact for best texture.
These can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
Serve with coleslaw or fries for a true Maryland-style meal.
