Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- Mix dry ingredients: Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Prepare wet ingredients: Whisk together melted butter, eggs, vanilla, cooled coffee, and espresso powder.
- Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Prepare the coffee buttercream by beating softened butter until creamy, then adding powdered sugar and mixing until fluffy.
- Finish the buttercream by mixing in coffee and vanilla extract.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the coffee buttercream.
