Description

A delicious and comforting dish combining tender chicken with a rich and creamy tomato basil sauce, perfect for busy weeknights and special family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Take your slow cooker out and plug it in. Make sure it is clean and ready for use.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts evenly on the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour in the tomato sauce, followed by the heavy cream. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and fresh basil on top.
  3. Seasoning: Sprinkle a little salt and pepper to taste over all the ingredients in the slow cooker.
  4. Cooking: Cover the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Shred the Chicken: Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken and shred it into bite-sized pieces.
  6. Combine: Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir well.
  7. Serve: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes, and optionally top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

You can use chicken thighs for richer flavor. Adjust seasoning according to your taste, and add vegetables for extra nutrition.
