Description

Warm, creamy steel-cut oats cooked slowly to perfection  rich, nutty, and comforting with a touch of sweetness. Perfect for a cozy breakfast that keeps you full and energized all morning.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup steel-cut oats

3 cups water

1 cup milk (or any dairy-free alternative)

1/4 tsp salt

1 tbsp butter or coconut oil

12 tbsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Toppings: fresh berries, sliced bananas, nuts, seeds, or nut butter

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, bring water and milk to a gentle boil over medium heat.

2. Stir in steel-cut oats and salt, then reduce heat to low.

3. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 20–25 minutes until oats are tender and creamy.

4. Stir in butter (or coconut oil), cinnamon, and maple syrup.

5. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.

6. Serve warm topped with fruit, nuts, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra creaminess, replace part of the water with more milk.

Add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract for a flavor boost.

Store leftovers in the fridge up to 4 days — reheat with a splash of milk.
