Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • Cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a medium bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Create the wet mixture by combining sour cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter in another bowl.
  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures together, stirring until just mixed.
  5. Make the cinnamon swirl by mixing brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and then add more batter until two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Cool the cupcakes for a few minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
