Description
Soft, fluffy caramel rolls baked in a rich, buttery brown sugar caramel sauce. Warm, gooey, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet treat any time of day.
Ingredients
1 cup warm milk
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
1 cup brown sugar, packed (for filling)
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter (for caramel)
1 cup brown sugar (for caramel)
2 tbsp corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Stir in melted butter, salt, egg, and flour until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead dough until smooth, then cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
4. In a saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup; pour into a greased baking dish.
5. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
6. Roll tightly, slice into rolls, and place over caramel sauce.
7. Pour heavy cream evenly over rolls, cover, and let rise 30 minutes.
8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden.
9. Let cool 5 minutes, then invert onto a serving platter.
Notes
Pouring cream over the rolls before baking makes them extra soft.
Do not let the caramel cook too long or it may harden.
Best served warm but reheat beautifully.
