Ingredients
For the brownies:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
For the ganache:
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; mix until just combined.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
6. Let brownies cool completely in the pan.
7. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
8. Remove from heat, add chopped chocolate and butter, and let sit for 2 minutes.
9. Stir until smooth and glossy, then let cool slightly.
10. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies, spreading evenly.
11. Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes to set before slicing into squares.
Notes
For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the brownies.
You can add a teaspoon of espresso powder to the brownie batter for deeper chocolate flavor.
Top with flaky sea salt or chopped nuts for a gourmet touch.
