Description

Ultra-gooey Rice Krispie treats made with nutty brown butter and swirled with rich dulce de leche for a decadent twist on the classic no-bake dessert.


Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

3/4 cup dulce de leche

Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)


Instructions

1. Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.

2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat until it browns and smells nutty.

3. Lower heat and add marshmallows, stirring until completely melted.

4. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.

5. Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies until evenly coated.

6. Gently fold in half of the dulce de leche, leaving visible swirls.

7. Press mixture into prepared pan without packing too tightly.

8. Warm remaining dulce de leche and drizzle over the top.

9. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.

10. Allow to set for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Do not overcook the butter — remove once golden brown.

Lightly grease hands or spatula to prevent sticking when pressing into pan.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
