Ingredients
2 slices sourdough or whole-grain bread, toasted
1/2 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 tsp honey (plus extra for drizzling)
1 tsp balsamic glaze or balsamic reduction
1/2 tsp lemon zest (optional)
Pinch of sea salt
Fresh basil or mint leaves, for garnish
Crushed pistachios or almonds (optional)
Instructions
1. Toast the bread until golden and crisp.
2. In a small bowl, mix ricotta with honey and lemon zest until smooth.
3. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over each toast slice.
4. Arrange sliced strawberries on top.
5. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and a little extra honey.
6. Sprinkle with sea salt, herbs, and crushed nuts if desired.
